Everyone can go and speak with their local Pharmacist for advice on a range of health conditions. They can advise whether you need to see a doctor or can try self treatment first. They may be able to provide an over the counter treatment you can buy.
If you have any of the following conditions and are over 3 months old a participating pharmacy can treat you under Pharmacy First scheme
If you qualify for free prescriptions you will receive the appropriate treatment free of charge. Even if you pay for prescriptions the cost of medication under Pharmacy First is usually less than a prescription charge.

If you have an injury which is not serious and life threatening the Minor Injury Unit at Ilkeston Community Hospital can provide fast, effective treatment. Conditions treated include
You do not need an appointment and often the waiting time is a lot shorter than Accident and Emergency. You can see the live waiting times here.
The Minor Injury Unit is open from 8am to 10pm seven days a week with x-ray available 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday.

This service is based at Coleman Dental Clinic in Derby and is accessed by calling 01332 888085. Only the person with the problem can call and once they have spoken to you they will be able to give appropriate advice and if needed offer an appointment.
