Littlewick Appointment System

Here at Littlewick Medical Centre we operate our appointment system allowing you to book appointments up to 4 weeks in advance with your chosen nurse or GP. Our telephone lines are open from 8am for booking appointments released on the day. If you wish to book a routine advance appointment, you may wish to call after 9.30am when the phone lines are quieter. Once we are fully booked for routine appointments for the day, the receptionists are trained to ask if you need to be seen as an emergency, and a telephone call with an emergency doctor or nurse practitioner will be offered as appropriate. When booking an appointment, the receptionist will ask what the call is regarding, to enable us to signpost your appointment to the most suitable GP or prescribing nurse practitioner as quickly as possible and allow that person to be prepared for your appointment. Please be aware that all children under 5 will be offered an appointment to see a GP or nurse the same day if necessary. Following many reviews of our appointment system, the Doctors and Management Team decided that holding back some appointments until the day at 8am works best in enabling patients to be seen on the day when that is needed.

Should you feel your problem cannot wait until the following day, you will be booked a call back in the emergency surgery. The receptionist will advise you that the GP or the nurse practitioner will be calling either between 8:30am-1pm or 1pm-6pm. Should you be offered an appointment from the GP or the nurse practitioner to attend surgery, please be aware there may be a wait when you arrive due to other emergency patients attending around the same time. The emergency doctor or nurse will be happy to purely discuss your emergency problem in that appointment. Routine sick notes can often be dealt with by leaving your request with reception staff, and do not require an emergency appointment.

How to Use the Website

To navigate the webite, you can use the tabs down the left hand side of the webpage to select the page that you would like to view.

Some tabs will extend to show you a number of other pages available to view e.g hovering over the 'Our Practice' tab will allow you to view pages such as 'Meet the Staff' and 'Patient Information'.

Alternatively, you can select the main page which will provide you with links to each page within that section e.g left clicking 'Our Practice' will take you to a list of links to 'Meet the Staff' and 'Patient Information' - left clicking these links will then take you to your selected page.
